Storytellers wanted! We have partnered with SHINE for over four years to bring Los Angeles audiences inspiring true stories. Shine is now reaching out to the UCLArts & Healing community to personally invite you to tell your stories at SHINE!

If you have a story that fits one of the below upcoming themes, please email Isabel Storey, Producer, at isabel@storeyproductions.com by the listed deadline. The stories selected will be performed at the SHINE Storytelling show at the Santa Monica Playhouse.

Submissions should contain a synopsis, outline, or full text of your story, as well as a short bio. SHINE is open to submissions from experienced storytellers, actors, and writers . . . as well as those that have never told a story on stage before.

Thursday, July 20 at 7:00 pm: "Change of Place"

How did a new or unusual place change your attitude—or your life?
Submission Deadline: Wednesday, June 28

Thursday, August 17 at 7:00 pm: "Music"

A special song . . . your musical career . . . an influential musician.
Submission Deadline: Wednesday, July 26

Thursday, September 14 at 7:00 pm: "My Own Drummer"
When you decided to follow your own heart—even though others thought it was risky, a long shot, or impractical. 
Submission Deadline: Wednesday, August 23

Thursday, October 19 at 7:00 pm: "Spooked"
Tales of facing fears, phobias, and your freakiest encounters. 
Submission Deadline: Wednesday, September 27

All SHINE events take place at the Santa Monica Playhouse, 1211 Fourth Street, Santa Monica, CA 90401.
